About Takeda

Takeda UK is the wholly owned UK subsidiary of Japan's largest pharmaceutical company.

Product information

The current Takeda UK portfolio for improving lives comprises two oral diabetes medicines, an angiotensin receptor blocker and a sustained-release formulation for the treatment of prostate cancer, endometriosis and uterine fibroids. Takeda MDS

Candesartan cilexetil (Amias ®) is prescribed to treat hypertension or heart failure. (2 mg, 4 mg, 8 mg, 16 mg, 32 mg tablets)1

Pioglitazone HCl (Actos ® ™) is used for the treatment of insufficient glycaemic control in Type 2 diabetes. (15 mg or 30 mg uptitrated to a 45 mg tablet where appropriate)2

Pioglitazone HCl/metformin HCl (Competact ® ™) is prescribed for Type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in overweight patients who cannot achieve sufficient glycaemic control at their highest tolerated dose of oral metformin alone. (15 mg/850 mg tablets twice daily)3
